MISSISSIPPI MAGAZINE

My granddaughter is featured in the Mississippi Magazine!!!! Her picture is so pretty and the story was great. Boga Chitto is where Truman's cousin Christine Smith lives. We will have to visit THE COTTON PATCH next time we are there for a visit. The article was very interesting and well written. Makes you want to see the place (which is what a good article is supposed to do. Enjoyed it Sophie.

ME AGAIN

Silver Sneakers today. I decided I had been unfair to RHYTHM RON, and asked him to work with me on the Mambo!!! He was very willing and "by George" I think I got it. At least till next time. Maybe I should practice at home. I don't have music with that beat. But I was proud of myself to ask Ron to help me. He means well.

PANCAKES AGAIN

It must be Saturday again --Pancakes__ Love that habit. Truman finished two weeks of radiation!!! It is all going well. The cancer on the tip of his nose will all be gone in another month and he will still have his nose. Surgery would have taken the tip maybe. This seemed the best way to go. He must stay out of sun unless he is well covered. Not easy and still play golf. Hats and a nose mask help. It does not hurt and cause any side affects. Maybe deeper into the therapy it will get red and burn a little but all in all it is amazing what can be done. And as he said "I get free coffee and a cookie too." We know the places to go to get free coffee. He just told me he left cookie in the car and he also picked up an apple too and the Dr's office. He goes to the Hederman Cancer Center at the Baptist. It will still cost a lot above Insurance so he is getting all the "perks" along the way. He is a really amazing man!! Always finding ways to have fun. His personality keeps him a young 87 and he will be 88 September 13. I have to really work hard to keep up with him, but it is worth the ride.

BACK AGAIN

It has been a long time, but I am back. The BEACH WEEK took a lot of time to get ready, to go, and to recover. But it was worth it. I am sorry some could not make it but 17 did and I think that was super. So much laughter, conversation, play, and good food!!!!!! Hope to be able to do it again next year which will be our 25th year. That is a record I think. I do not know of another family who has had that much success. Who knows what next year will bring. Truman started his radiation therapy Monday. It is going well but six weeks five days a week is a long time. It only takes about five minutes and no side affects so we are blessed there. SILVER SNEAKERS today-Lord help me not to mess up too much-or I will "get a little help" from my fellow who thinks I "have no rytham" I really don't but I hate for someone to point that fact out.
