UPS !!!!! DOWN CAME CHRISTMAS

 WELL THE DECORATIONS ARE DOWN AND i AM TIRED. WHY, OH, WHY, DID I PULL OUT SO MUCH? I DID NOT THINK I PUT SO MUCH UP. BUT LITTLE BY LITTEL OUT IT CAME. AND NOW I MUST PUT IT AWAY FOR NEXT TIME. I LOVE MY OLD THINGS AND NOBODY BUT ME CAN APPRECIATE THEM BUT ME. YOU HAVE SOME OLD FAVORITES TOO I BET. I ALWAYS SAY I WILL TAKE A FEW DOWN AND DO MORE ANOTHER DAY. BUT BEFORE I KNOW IT---I CAN'T FIND A STOPPING PLACE. IT IS ALL DOWN NOW AND I AM TIRED, BECAUSE NEW THINGS HAD TO TAKE ITS PLACE. SINCE I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HALL TABLE, I JUST TOOK THE STUFF DOWN AT MY ENTRANCE DOOR AND JUST TOOK ALL MY ENERGY. I WILL HAVE TI DRUM UP SOME MORE BY RESTING A WHILE. AMY CAME THIS MORNING AND FILLED MY PILL BOX. SURE DOES HELP TO BE SURE IT IS FILLED RIGHT., SINCE I RUN A SMALL DRUG OPERATION RIGHT HERE. PUN INTENDED.

32 IS COLD, BUT SUN WILL HELP.

 Sun is shinning and the birds are eating a lot. I keep seeing small birds that I am not sure what they are. I don't have a bird book anymore. But what difference does it make if I can't identify them? Not any difference at all. Just feed them and enjoy.

I made a small pot of veggie soup yesterday. Boy, I forgot what a deal it is. So much clean up and I was tired when I finished. I just sat down and had a small cup. Pretty good. I did put in a little left over chicken that I saved for that purpose. Bits of veggies were saved and frozen for the soup. Many cooks over the years have made this kind of soup. Out of need to use everything and don't throw away a thing. My Mothers managed to taste the same over and over. Even when  had different things in it every time, it still came together the same. Magic. I will freeze it by the cups.. Be good when I need it.

Another winner

 YES IT WAS A WINNER. IT IS DEPOSITED INTO THE MEMORY BANK. SAFE FOR ANY DAY I WANT TO FEEL GOOD. WE HAD THE BEST FOOD EVER. COOKS WERE AT THEIR BEST AND EVERYONE ENJOYED. I HELD UP PRETTY GOOD AND REALLY DID ENJOY EVERYTHING. I HAVE THE BEST FAMILY OF ALL. I ENJOYED A RERUN OF XMAS DINNER YESTERDAY AND IT WAS JUST AS GOOD AS THE FIRST TIME AROUND.  NOW I MUST TONE IT DOWN AND GET BACK IN THE TRACES, BUT IT WAS WONDERFUL. THE BEST OF ALL WAS TO HEAR EVERYONE TALKING. CONLD'T KEEP UP WITH IT ALL, BUT I DID A GOOD JOB OF TAKING MOST OF IT IN. LETS DO IT AGAIN SOMETIME.

AS THE WORLD TURNS

The world turns as we ignore all the worries it is in. We gather together and enjoy the experiences we have had these few days. Hey it is not over. Leo is coming to visit and bringing his Dad and anyone else he can. Surprises in store.  Amy picked a book from me, I know he will like it. Maybe we will read it together. Also he is "into" snakes. Imagine. We bought him one. Not real of course. Will be a good morning. He is such a joy. 

The season is winding down and a new one is coming. What things will happen? I do not know, but I am ready to see.

GREAT DAY

 Well, HO,HO, HO,--MERRY CHRISTMAS. If today is as good as yesterday, then it will be wonderful. We did enjoy my side of the family yesterday. All beautiful people and don't get together often. A good and lovely brunch was enjoyed as well as the many conversations. One niece is having first baby. One has a new boyfriend, another is newly engaged. Time marches on. Today a traditional Christmas feast is planned at #2 daughters home. All bring something good to eat and fun to share. Truman would have loved it all. I miss him so much at special times. What is your favorite holiday food? Hard to pick?  I guess mine is the old fashioned way of dressing. The way my Mama made it. The gravy is important too. She never made Pumpkin pie, but I have learned to like it too. Hey, the list goes on. And so do we.

NIT-PICKING AGAIN

I said to myself this morning as I was fooling around---you are nitpicking again. It came to me, that I say that a lot and sort of know what it means, but what is it's origin?  Of course it bothered me till I asked my friend Mr. Google. It started in the 1950s. A person who is obsessed with what they are doing and jumps from one thing to another. Sound like you? Or Me. Also it was a common thing during the l950"s head lice. Kids were searched for them in their hair. How invasive. Can't remember anything about that ? Oh well, So Be It. I do NITPICK but not for nits.
