WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY

I can not express my joy of today. Starting with dinner Saturday and Sunday at church(flowers in church to honor me on by birthday from my family] Beautiful lunch with more beautiful flowers, cards presents and great food. Caramel cake and a big crowd to enjoy. And I did enjoy and thank God for my wonderful family. I am not worthy of so much love == but I accept it with love. We filled a pew with family. How great is that? Maybe I will sleep tonight-I don"t know yet. Mary Grace gave me a Betta fish to keep me company. We had a contest to name him. He is red and his name is pimento.

GOOD DAY

Amy and Jan came yesterday for lunch. We enjoyed it together. Linda and Joseph are coming today to celebrate my 85th birthday. Can't believe I will be 85 on the 31st. Wow!!!!! I finished Lindsay"s baby blankets for her little girl. They turned out very good. Rain has stopped and cooler weather. We just have not had much cold weather. Things are begining to "bud" out. Hope they are not too soon. Come celebrate with us--I will tell you all about it later

FUN DAY

What could be better than lunch with some of my favorite people. Jan, Amy, Mary Grace. Sophie and Cary. We went Mexican today and it was great. Fun to listen to all of their stories And it was hard for me to keep up. They are all so busy with different things and amazing stuff too. Linda is coming this weekend to help celebrate my birthday Sounds like big plans and I can't imagine what they are cooking up. Stay tuned.

Church and lunch with Amy at MR< CHEN"S You must go there. The food was so good. Made to order== not a buffet. I sat in the bubble room overlooking the lake this afternoon and worked on receiving blankets for Lindsay's new little girl. They are so sweet and soft. My our family is growing. I saw 12 Canada geese. They are back Some people will not be happy about that.Now I got tired of sewing and I am back in the apartment and Patsy Cline is singing a sad song on a CD. O my she will make you sad for her. kind of a mixed day. My realtor is having OPEN HOUSE at the house this afternoon. Not a good day because it has been raining off and on. Lord help me sell the house. -----I think I will walk for 20 minutes and call it a day.

ANSWER TO A PRAYER ?

I was just now walking down the hall looking for an apartment to deliver a Birthday card to a friend when a lady stepped out of her apartment and took my hand and took me to where I was going. Then she said "You are the answer to my prayer--I am bored to death" I went in to visit. She is an artist and a good one. She showed me paintings she did of her husband, mother, and father. They were good. She also had many landscapes and pictures of roses, which she loves. We had a nice visit and I came away with a bag of her homemade bran muffins and a feeling that I did answer her prayer. I also went to another friends birthday party this afternoon--champane and lots of lovely food. Her daughters did it for her. That was nice. I feel like I am living in a dream sometime.

Amy and I were having lunch with one of our favorite ladies and she told Amy--"I have a one butt kitchen". Kind of racey words? That is about as bad as it gets here. Thank you Lord.

MIGHT AS WELL

A lady answered me when I asked "Are you O K. today?"--"Might as well be O. K.--not much I can do about it" Now I ask you, was she trying or had she given up? Sometime it is hard when you get to my age to feel like giving up or giving in. I watched Betty White"s 90th birthday party on TV last night. She is a good role modle. My 85th is coming up soon-can I make it to 90? Might as well.Not much I can do about it.

Breakfast with Norman and Sue. They are such nice people. When I mentioned I would soon be here for a year. I could not believe it. One of the most changing years of my life. Good and bad. I also said it is my birthday month and I will be 85. They acted shocked and said they would have guessed I was in my 70s. Another reason to be happy here. That made my day even this early in the day. What else do you suppose is in store for me today. Tune in later.

BIG DEBATE

Three ladies and I wwere discussing the difference in the two words--rich and wealthy. After much to do we did not agree. I looked the two words up in the dictionary and they were so much alike till I could not find any diffeerence. I decided I was rich rather than wealthy because I saw wealthy not always meaning money. While I have plenty I am not wealthy but I am rich in many things. What do you think?

BAREFEET?

O. K. Now I am feeling at home. I encountered two cases pf barefeet in the hall. Well one was sockfeet but down near the main hall! Oh! my Well that is alright with me. Now I do not have to hide and look bothways when I head down the hall in sock feet to the laundry room or whatever. I am teasing. I know both ladies and they are the best. I guess I do not have a lot to write January is kind of slow. Better tomorrow

SATURDAY

Jan and Cary had lunch and a nice visit with me Saturday. Got caught up on their news. Cary said David was still in bed when she came==not asleep==just there. Well it was Saturday=do what you want. I did this and that and caught up too. Reading a good book about a cat named Dewey. He lives in a library and is a true story. I like true stories.
complete with photos. I hate to see it finish because I am afraid it will not be good. But that is the way life is-up and down-good and bad-but mostley in between.

Nothing New

Back to normal, except the weather. Where is winter? Hiding and will jump out soon. Meanwhile we have spring. I even saw roses still in the rose garden. A new resident got a tissue flower from me. I still like doing them. So easy to make to give such joy. It is amazing what "little" things can do. Saturday is slow. The Blues Marathon is today. Be fun to see some of it on T.V. I hope they show some of it. It is getting to be well known.

Come on girls--blog for me. I need to hear what you are doing. No--really I can imagine how busy you have been since Christmas--so much to catch up on.. School and work was kind of put on hold while we celebrated. Now this is important but I miss you.

NEW YEAR

2021 What will it bring? One day at a time and we will know. That I know. New Year's party was alright--but you really need a partner to dance And all the people who had one seemed to turn out. I saw people I had never seen before. Band and food was great but these sad old widows looked kind of lost. I stayed 30 minutes and could not take anymore. Guess I am not ready for that scene. Rain today and turning more like winter tonight. Maybe a change is what I need. No sweetheart to kiss at midnight really is hard. Don't mean to sound so down--I really am not. "Just the facts mam"
