SATURDAY ALREADY?

How time gets by.. I wont mention Pancakes today, alt ho we had them (banana) and so good. It has rained a bit and we still need more. Big day at Broadmeadow tomorrow. We are celebrating our 60Th year. Actually it is January before we will be 60 but we are honoring our charter members( we are charter members) and we are fading so I guess it is best to go ahead and honor us. We were #21 and 22. Our Church and Church family mean so much to us and has through our years here.

Well I put 12 pints of green butter beans in the freezer yesterday and a couple of weeks ago I did the same with lady peas. Like those squirles we have been discussing--I am putting up provisions for the winter.

See you later.

HAPPY 88TH TRUMAN

We celebrated two nights. Since Linda, Joseph, Lindsay, Jacob and Parker were all here, everyone local wanted to see them and only one night and two days is not long. The long (put together) tables were set up and we just enjoyed two nights of feasting. Truman wanted shrimp and what he wants --he usually gets. No kidding we really did enjoy being together. Aunt Ruby came on Sunday have lunch and with Ivy's boyfriend we had 17. It is her birthday on the 14Th and Truman's the 13. All tablecloths (8) and napkins are laundered and put up and tables back in place again today, and all is quiet again. Penny came out from under the bed. It gets to her. She is used to nothing much going on.

Got to go now.

COMPANY-a-COMING

Linda, Joe, Lindsay, Jacob, and Parker are coming Saturday for Truman's birthday, which is on Sunday the 13th. We will get together Saturday night for Truman and Ivy's birthday. Ivy will be 16 on the 14th. Sweet 16 and never ben kissed? I doubt that.
We saw 4 racoons early this morning at the Lake. Penny was not interested at all. Also a huge blue heron was sitting on the NEW fountain in the lake. That is another story. Also made some new moves at SILVER SNEAKERS yesterday and am a little sore. No , it was not the Mombo. I have that one "down to pat" Where do I get these crazy sayings. Somebody told them long ago I guess. Got to get to work. You would think we would have a better way than setting up tables when we have family. But I have Truman!!! Almost 88 and still very dependable!

SPIDER LILIES

The spider lilies are coming up and a few are blooming. I love them. They are so quick and on time. It reminds me of fall and school did not start for my kids till the Monday after Labor Day so the lilies are on time but school is too quick.

GOOD SUNDAY

After reading Ashley and Sophie's blog--mine does not seem as exciting. I wore a bunch of HATS yesterday. First I made muffins for coffee at Church. Truman made the coffee for the break. I prepared and laid out Communion for church service. I cleaned up after. Did you know that the left over grape juice has been blessed and should not be poured down the drain? It is poured in the flower garden or on the ground someplace? Next we went to eat lunch out with Irene and Ruby. Home for nap and looked at golf and football, read the paper and had wine and a grilled cheese sandwich more reading and TV. Life is good. Early this morning I saw one of our resident racoons getting either an early breakfast or a late night snack. He was at the lake woods digging for something. Penny ignored him when I showed the coon to her. He looked like her cousin. So that is what I did. What more excitement will I have for this Labor Day.? We will see.

P.S. I forgot we had coffee from our Betty Boop mugs. A present from Peggy J.

MOMBO ANYONE?

Yes I did it yesterday at SILVER SNEAKERS. I was so proud. We had music of the 60's yesterday to do our exercise by. TWIST AND SHOUT by the Beatles and we did the twist. Do any of you youngesters know the Twist? I think we are turning class into DANCING WITH THE STARS. Maybe it is DANCING WITH THE OLDIES? I was tired!!!!!.
