LAUGH AND BE WELL

Long time-no see? Not much funny to write. Since January one or both of us have had health issues. No fun. First Truman'a face peel to ride of possible cancer . Staph infection layed him low. In the meantime more eye surgery for me and then I broke a cap off of a tooth. Three weeks of problems for that. I am still in treatment for the eye and hope that I have at least retained the vision I still have. We will see soon. In the meantime the azaleas have never been so beautiful. Our backyard is something to behold. We are looking forward to Mother's Day weekend when we will go to a cabin {or two} at Grenada lake. Linda and Joe will join us. Should be wonderful. And not to far off is the Beach Week. Hope many can come. Well we are off to lunch with our old camping buddies. We have all stopped camping but get together from time to time for lunch. O yes Silver Sneekers is still going on and I still love it.

SNOW

Hello, Me at last. I have been a little slack in my writing. Sorry because I love reading all of yours. We have had two snows you could measure this February. A record. Of course the last one was only an inch but the weather people got really excited with the record. Hey February is not over yet. Almost over, it seems weeks are passing so fast. I am looking to Spring. Maybe Truman and I will get all these little (little?) ailements straight soon. My vision is still blured in the right eye. Hope with time it will clear. In the meantime things don't seem right. I can not read very long without getting tired. Still have to be careful about lifting any thing over 10 pounds. Truman has had a hard time with his face but he keeps going. He is amazing to me. Enough of our troubles--I am sure you are tired of them. We are too. The bulbs are blooming in the back yard. What a sight up through the snow. There is always hope.

SNOW???????

Dear Readers, I have not blogged for a while. Been busy taking care after eye surgery. Doing o.k. and go back for a check up today. Truman has also been busy getting his face peeled. A trying experience. But that too is going as expected. He will have a smooth face-free of pre cancer. Too much sun all these years. It seems to be just patch patch patch now. Glad we can do something for our problems. Almost all of you readers have lota of snow. We may get some today and over the weekend could be a lot. Hurry to the grocery store and stock up on provisions That is what we do. My thing to do is make soup. So that is what I will do today.

RAIN AND COLD

Sorry it has been so long since I posted. I have a Birthday Sunday. #83. Can you believe it? Hope to have many more. This weather is co changeable. I don't know if it is winter or Spring. Maybe we will have a little sleet and light snow tonight. The Goldfinch in our back yard are eating like crazy. What is that the sign of? Snow maybe. I am haveing yet another eye surgery on Monday. The October one did not hold up and I am going to have it over. I dread it because I am so limited for a while but if I must have it to save sight--so be it. Think of me that morning and Truman too. He has to do a lot of lifting and bending over for me for a while.

A saying our local weather man says. I think he borrowed it from way in the past. It is true and soooo cold. 17 degrees this morning and might snow and get even colder. I was just about to go through my coat closet and take some old, out of date coats to the Goodwill. Think I had better hold on a while? I kind of like it cold. Warm fireplace at night is nice. The birds are eating like crazy and that keeps me bust filling the feeders. Silver Sneekers was good yeaterday but tomorrow I wonder if we will have a class if we have ice like they say. I hope we do because I really enjoy it. Whitney--I think we need to move to Florida.

Well I must go and buy some water and soup. That is what we do when we panic about snow being expected. Not a bad idea.

LONG TIME NO-SEE

I have not bloged in a long time. Busy with so many things. I have had a wonderful Christmas. So much family time. It was good to have Linda and Joe for a few days. We have had the most wonderful food this year. Everyone worked hard to have a great time. The Chinese food the night before Ashley and Bryan left to go back to Boston was great. Back to snow!!!! That will be the norm for them this winter. I hated to see them leave but I am so proud of them both for all they do. They looked great. Wished we could have seen the Florida and Tn. grands too. It is great to have a family that like to get together. Truman was so happy. We uaually are headed for South Texas or Florida for the month of January but we sold the motor home. We have such fond memories of those trips. It was time to sell-we could not do it alone and we miss Cecil so much. It is cold and the fire feel good. So much football on today. I guess that is to be expected. I like some of it but I get tired too. I need something new to read. My new cookbook just makes me hungry. Silver Sneekers was good yesterday. I needed the exercise. My tree is down but I still need to put all the decorations in the closet. I should have done like the person who dumped their tree at the recycle lot and left all decorations on it. I guess they will buy more next time. My thing is that I love all my decorations so much that I could not throw any away. Sooooo my closet is full and running over. I must start getting rid of some of this junk.

PLEASE RAIN STOP

The weather man (lady) said it would stop today and the sun will shine--for a while. I hope so. The sun makes us all happy. Tree is uo and decorated, with those old tired decorations. But hey!!it is my stuff and I like it. Presents are wrapped under the tree. We have escaped the flu and colds. I am grateful for that. We have the long tables up and decorated in the living room. It looks pretty (to me) Even more will it be pretty when we are sitting around it and eating that turkey and dressing. We will have a good crowd but not eryone. Sad but how lucky we are to have had everyone so many times. I understand some can not come but we will miss the ones that cannot be here.
