I like the rain. It means change. I hope it turns cooler. You know the Mississippi State Fair starts this week. Needs to be cool for that. I have not been to the fair in a while. Wish I had a biscuit from there. It could not be as good as Ashley's, but close. Hold the home made syrup if you please. I know it is a southern thing--but I don't like it. I was in the hall before going to Church and i met a man who said--"You sure have on a pretty "shirt" It was pretty and red but I would not call it a "shirt". A man thing I guess. Went to visit Irene and got her left over Sunday paper. Still to cheap to subscribe myself. I am reading an interesting book. "Mrs. Tom Thumb". Did you know it is a real person and her story. She was little like him. Well must go fix a light supper and bath and read and then to bed. Just thought you needed to know all of that.

EV ENING IN PARIS
I was told at breakfast this morning that I missed the best event we ever had last night. " Evening In Paris" was started with a very good dinner and wine. Best service ever and Celtic music (not very French) but Europe anyway. Dancing under the stars-- and I watched from the balcony. I have been to Paris and loved it, but without my love, I chose not to go again. Maybe I am missing a lot, I'll never know but for right now--balcony will have to do. Don't feel sorry for me, I have had the best of both worlds and am satisfied. We expect rain for today--I hope so. I sort of like rain when I can see it from the inside. I think I will color my hair today and feel younger. Nothing wrong with that??

PREACHING AGAIN
I ran across this scripture today. Old, being from Proverbs 25:11. " A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver." Isn't that a pretty play on words? But think about it. How true.
Lord, may my words today be well chosen and "fitly spoken".

BABY NEEDS NEW SHOES
Big thing for today was new walking shoes. At $100,00 a pair that is bis to me. I went to FLEET FEET and bought grey with hot pink trim Nike"s (as usual). I had on grey pants and hot pink shirt, I declare I did not plan it but I looked so put together that I wore them home. The salesman wanted to hire me as a model. I need a day job, Should I have taken it? Just kidding!! So that was the highlight of my day. I found out I play has been postponed till January. A few of the cast have to many other commitments to do the practice that it takes. My we are a busy group. I am off to Kroger to buy a few groceries. I still like to cook some and I will get my fly shot while I am there.

ON ANOTHER MISSION
Amy and I have found a nitch for us. She took the flowers from the altar at Church and truned them into three beautiful arrangements. We took one to Polly and Hank Ware, Charter members and shut-ins now. One to Jack , my brother who is in the hospital for various problems, and one to me, and some to someone else she knows Everyone loved them. We did -good. Rob gave her some people to visit from the Church. We will do it again next week. Something so small for us to do but means more than we know for others. Lunch at McAlister's with M. G. before she had to go to work. We also went to visit Truman and changed to flowers for him. It is so peaceful and beautiful there. I am glad for all the good memories that are coming to me. See--memories are so important--make some good ones.!!!!! I dare you.
