THE DAY BEFORE

Can't believe the day is so close.  I am so happy the weather looks good.  You know the old, old, saying--"Happy is the Bride that the sun shines on" ?  Looks good for that.  But I believe if a rain storm or snow blizzard should come-this bride would be happy.  Same goes for the groom too.  I have never seen two so sure of themselves.  My prayer is they will keep God as the center of their marriage.  All else will fall in place.  First we will have the bridesmaid luncheon.  Should be very nice.  Linda and Joe will be at my place this morning and thru the wedding.  Can"t wait.

WACKY WEDNESDAY

I was in the rest room after exercise class--In comes 'HAPPY', as I call her.  She is always laughing, joking, and laughing at herself.  She lets out a BIG burp and laughed,  I said there is more room on the outside than the inside.  She replied "You are lucky it did not come out the other end".  O my we have no shame--me included.  Well I am off to Wal-Mart.  Can't stay away long.

RAINEY MONDAY

I started the day by dropping a small juice glass on the tile kitchen floor. 






































I started the morning by dropping a small juice glass on the kitchen tile floor. 
At 6:00 a.m. you don't need to be sweeping up thousands of slivers of glass.  But, what can you do?  I also made cinnamon quick bread for my coffee group.  All before I cooked my breakfast.  Whew!!!  That will get you moving.  The raves from the group are worth it.  I think that is to keep me doing it.  But it is good to be appreciated.  Right?  It is raining this morning and I hope it does not rain on the wedding day.  Coming soon.  Everyone is excited and wishing to get on with it.  I am looking forward to seeing everyone too.

NOVEMBER 23, 1946

This would have been our  66th wedding anniversary.  I can't say how blessed I am to have had 66 years of living together and to remember all the things we did together.  Ups and downs but always together.  What more could anyone ask for?  I am sad and happy too to have lived all those years with Truman and made all these memories that I thrive on today.  I urge you again to "make memories" good and not so good-they both are important.  Be happy for me.

THANKSGIVING DAY

A very small group gathered at Ed and Amy's house for dinner.  I believe we had more dogs and cats than people.  But we had a wonderful meal and fellowship together and gave thanks for all the blessings we enjoy.  As Truman always said in hi====s prayers as we gathered as a family  "Lord we realize how much we have to be thankful for"  His exact words--I know because I have a few copies in his handwriting that he used over and over again. He was sometime silent about his faith but his actions said a lot.  I know I learned a lot about life from him--hope you did too.  I miss him so much.  But most of the time I handle it good.    Something nice happened.  Paul brought me a gift of "shelled pecans  They are beautiful and I will use them wisely and make them last a long time.  Thank you Paul.  I think you are a "keeper".  Soon you will be truly one of us.  Now on to "the wedding"  and then Christmas  Time marches on and waits for no one.

A lot of people I know are sick.  Hope Whitney is on the mend and My brother is very ill.  Several people I know are sick here at St. Catherines.  Then there are other issues that are on our minds.  Lord help  us all.

SUNDAY

Church was good.  Amy's arrangements on the altar for Thanksgiving was perfect as everything she does like that  is.  Good lunch at China Belle on Lakeland.  Very good.  Paul and Sophie and Amy and I talked about the wedding.  Getting close and I am sure it will be outstanding.  I am making little happies for my friends here for Christmas.  I must say Christmas is coming too soon/  We;; off to exercise class and I made pumpkin bread at 6:00 A..M.again I just love complements!!!.

SATURDAY

I don't know why but things aren't happening.  Maybe it is just me.  I had to deal with an eye problem that has turned out alright.  I guess I just get scared when things happen.  Mostly I handle everything very good.  But lately I am a mess.  I am going to help our committee on making good things better this morning finish up Christmas decorations.  I can't get into the spirit before Thanksgiving.  It is a lot to decorate this big place and work must begin early.  We wont turn any lights on just yet.  I guess it is typical for "people like me" to be sad this time of the year and our anniversary is also on the day after Thanksgiving too.  A lot to miss.

COLD MONDAY (for us)

Rain last night brought us some cool weather.  I like it.  Mondays are always full.  I was baking banana bread at   at 6:00 this morning.  My coffee club appreciate.  They almost embarrass me with  complements.  Yesterday was a good day at Church.  We used memorial money that was given in memory of Truman and had new paraments made for the Choir.  They were beautifully embroied with a cross.  Rob blessed them with a dedication ceremony and it felt good.  Amy and I took some flowers from the church to the mos elem for Memorial Day.  Must go and practice Christmas program with the Choir.  You know--The St, Catherines Sunshine  Choir .  We are getting better and better at the Latin.

BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

The sky is the most beautiful blue with white fluffy clouds. The weather is mild.  I helped with putting up lights outside for Christmas.  We will not turn them on till after Thanksgiving Day.  We have a good working group called GOOD THINGS BETTER COMMITTEE. We put up a lot of lights and still must have another work day to get it finished,  Jan and Cary came for lunch.  We sat on the terrace of the Cafe and it was so pleasant,  Just talked and talked and got up to date on things.  Mostly about THE WEDDING.  Wont be long now. Everyone is excited.  I bought my outfit for the wedding.  I must think about another couple of outfits.  I think I have something already that I can use.  Must look my best for my granddaughter's wedding and the parties leading up to the wedding.  Such a happy time for the bride and groom.  Must have a nap========ZZZZZZZZZ

BREAKFAST ALREADY

Just had my breakfast with friends.  We talked about politics.  Everyone is talking.  Not much fun at 7:30 in the morning.  We switched to careers.  I did not even go to college much less have a career.  I had little to add to that conversation or politics either.  But you can have a listening day--and I did.  Now to do laundry and then to grocery store.  Maybe something interesting will happen and I will have something to tell.

DR. DAN----THE BANDAGE MAN

Remember that Little Golden Book?  I loved to read to my kids.  I just loved the books.  Little Golden Books---Had a bookshelf full .25 cents at the A & P..  And Miss Frances and her Ding Dong School books?  Now I am off the subject.  I went to my Dr. for my annual today.  He said I looked more like 55 than 85.  Altho I took the complement, I don't feel that way.  Any way he helped me see that I am doing  O.K. for an old gal.{my words.  Not his}  We will know for sure when results of the routine test come back. So I have had a big day.  Please excuse all this personal stuff, but it is where I am now.

VOTE!!!!!!

I am going to vote with Betty D, and Pat  W.  They have buses going from here but we are going in Betty"s car and then to the FRESH MARKET.  The Delta Rockers danced for us yesterday.  They are a group of good looking, fun loving ladies, ages from 68-80, from the Delta area.  They are sort of like the Rocketts from N. Y.  Ha Ha/  No really they looked good. They did not kick as high but with enthusiasm.  Even the 80 year old.  This has been a group for several years and they go all over the state and more and put on a real good dance show.  Really polished group.  They have been here before and I saw them last year too.  Always something going on.  I am lucky.

MONDAY and RAIN

Rain and Mondays go together.  Exercise was good.  G. again brought satsumas.  I was happy.  I also have veggie soup simmering.  Also goes with rain and any day of the week.  Come on over but you will have to bring the cornbread.  Cornbread goes with soup {to me anyway}.  I will share a bowl with a couple of friends who have been under the weather.  I will leave it at the door and surprise them.  I love surprises.  Especially the food kind. THE ROCKERS will perform at 3:00 today.  I will report on that tomorrow.  Don't forget to vote.  Your choice.  I will not tell you who to vote for.  Aren't we blessed to be able to vote freely?  I think we are.  So exercise your right to vote.  End of thought for the day.

A FUNNY ON ME

 As you know, I am always looking at others for jokes.  Well the joke is on me.  I just hope nobody saw this one.  I had two loads of clothes today to wash. since I changed my sheets. I came up short one sock.  Went back to look for it and there in the main hall of my floor was a pile of aqua blue that looked very familiar .  Not only the sock was found but these aqua blue panties that belonged to me.  I looked right and left.  Whew!! nobody.  Of course they did not hang out there long{I hope}.  And if they did - nobody but the "young at heart" would wear aqua blue panties.  And since I am "young at heart"  I do not care if someone knows it.

TIGER GRRRR

Just got back from exercise class.  A lady came in wearing a tank top that was striped like a tiger.  She said "I have a tiger in my tank!!".  Laughter is said to be the best medicine.  So laugh!!

Sorry , I haven't checked in lately.  Things have been going on, but for some reason I just have not been in the mood to share.  Sorry, I will do better.   My creativity has been on hold,  Jack and Irene both are in the hospital and I have had a lot on my mind,
