GOOD FEELINGS

Do you know the feeling when those close to you have been away a while and then they are home?  Mothers live with that feeling. My "travelers are home and I can breath a little easy again.  Don't get me wrong, I don't regret them going, I am glad they do, because  I used to go also.

I have been thinking a little about Fall clothes. The colors are interesting.  One is an oldie.  Sort of wine, but not a strong stand out.  I can't describe it.  I remember a suit I had when I worked that was close to that' color. Just thinking. We sure have changed a lot in a short time. Change can be good.

WELL HELLO MR.RAIN

Long time no see.  I was so happy that I wanted to feel it--so  I put on the long robe and flip-flops and just adjusted the balcony chairs till I was not really siting in the rain.  Felt like Gene Kelly in SINGING IN THE RAIN. No kidding,  I came close to singing.  It has slowed  to a drizzle, but more to come, so they say.  Those pretty little weather girls will not have wavey locks today.  More of a "bun" will have to do.

I know what I can do today.  Tackle the washing.  It is a joy to wash when it rains.  Because I remember the days when I did not have a dryer and wet diapers to dry. I wished in those days we could afford Diaper Service.  Yes there was such a thing. then.  Now--just throw aways.  My we have made a lot of progress for young Mothers.  Also. I think of making "soup" when it rains.  But not today.  I get to "sashay" on down the hall to the Cyber or Dinning room and say "soup." please. and "one of each kind."

77 degrees agaiBETTn

Gone are the green fields?  Another song popped into this old head. Well not so fast.  The green will be here a while. But the breeze is cool and t shat is "cool."  Play on words.  Being funny so early is not easy.  I do get ahead of myself.  Scrambled egg with grated Pepper Jack cheese perked me up.  A little while on the Balcony helps too.  No people yet.  Like the world is my own and not messed up yet by me.  Coffee is good. I have adjusted back to Kroger's mild breakfast blend.  I am not picky about my coffee. I appreciate Trader Joes but Kroger will do. run out

I have been putting off and avoiding  my basket of dirty clothes. My laundry basket is Old.  I bought it years ago at the Canyon Flea Market from an old black man who made baskets.  So it has a history.  Like me.  I never thought I would reach 97 years on this earth.  Now I am reaching for 98 and beyond.

A TOUCH OF FALL

Not like a real Fall, just a touch.  Gives you hope for cooler days.  Makes me go way back to my early school days.  New supplies.  The smell of crayons, paste, and what we call a satchel bag to carry things in.  I would play with them till they did not look new anymore.  Oh, yes, do you remember a big fat pencil in the 1st grade.  Suppose to help little short small hands to hold it steady?  Oh, my the things I remember.  But best. I remember new dresses.  Girls did not wear pants in those days. Thankfully now, pants is all we wear.  Old "biddies" and everyone in between.
But J. C. Penny. then on Capitol Street, had big promotions of School clothes.  So some of us showed up with dresses just alike
,  But my favorite one is the two bricks that my thoughtful teacher brought in to put on the floor beneath my little feet. so they could rest on them and not swing in the air all day. Little Dot was grateful.  I have learned over the years to accept  being small and most of the time not noticed at all.

77 degrees i will tag mke that.

I loved the pictures from Dolphin Island.  As many times I have been to the Gulf coast, I have never been there. Bet it is beautiful and different.  Bring me a shell from the beach.  Eat good food, sleep a lot, laugh a lot and enjoy each other's stories and come back refreshed and safe!!  What more can I say.  I love you all.

SLEPT LATE

I guess it is the CLAIRTIN. I slept 10 hours last night.  I guess I needed it, as we say.  Too much sleep is making me slow,  rather than quick and lively.  So here I sit trying to write.  By the way I just noticed I have my gown on wrong side out.  Glad I don't worry about you seeing me.  Ups, I told you, so now you have a picture in your mind. Of this tattered little old lady, who loves to write, sitting in her turned in side out night gown, struggling to see straight, just pecking away as if there is no one looking.  Now who is Cyber World, if no one is looking? I guess it is the meds talking?

NICE DAY

Yes, a nice day in the Neighborhood. (Mr. ROGERS). Sun is shinning. Don't need my sweater as he does.  I enjoyed company yesterday. The group was not as many as expected but the ones here were a delightful change from my day to day friends.  I do have a-plenty.  I try to be a friend to everyone.  Yesterday we looked at new pictures of new baby.  Time marches on. We dredged up old memories and we will make more.  Keep your memories in the Memory Bank and check them out from time to time and don't forget to deposit them back for future.  They will grow to be more valuable as time goes on.  I have one and I even drew a picture of it.  It is real to me.

Enough now.
