JUST FOR ME

You know, I just realized that writing my blog is just for me.  It is o. k. if I have readers, in fact I am flattered if someone mentions they read it.  But I just have the urge to write my thoughts down.  Sort of like  talking to someone.  One of the things I have had to get used to was being without a spouse.  The cat is a poor sub for a person.  Sure she pays attention when I talk to her, but can't even smile in return.  So I write. Even then I get little response .  But that is not the reason altogether that I write.  I do appreciate hearing from  you who read.

I am excited to  be felling better and wanting to do things again. Amy is coming to take me to Dillards to  buy makeup.  Can't fine my favorite except in Department stores.  While I am there I will look at their racks of the left over summer sales. Not much left I bet, but I do love a bargain.  I know we will find a good place for lunch.  Now that makes for a perfect day.  Daughter, shopping and lunch out.
Well I must move along.  The workers are doing a makeover of an apartment close to me and they are redoing tile and it makes for lot of noise.  They just started to work and I will be glad to get away.

THE FREENZY GOES ON

I would say the hummers have gone a little crazy now.  I guess the weather has messed with them and they want to go South.  On the Balcony this morning, yes the rain stopped and let me go out, a little hummer came to inspect me up close.  So close that it actually tried to drink nectar from the flowers on my robe!!  I was so surprised that I could not move.  I could actually feel its beak through my thin summer robe.  I was thrilled to say the least to be so close to it.  It did not take long for it to know it was not real, but  we made real eye contact. Oh my. Good way to start the day.

I wonder what else the day will bring? All I have to do is look around and  something of beauty or interest will cross my path.  Maybe something only for me.

RAINY DAY

It was expected.  I don't like the trouble the storm brought to the coast but I must admit I like a day like this.  It sort of stops routine and gets your attention.  Bitsy is looking for a spot to relax away from the windows.  I think she is not afraid but just looking for a warmer cozy spot.  She is the most calm cat I ever had.  Nothing seems to upset her.  She sleeps at night at the foot of my bed.  I said I would never allow this, but I gave in.  She is so still and never disturbs me, so what will be will be.

My report at Dr.'s went well.  No sign of trouble.  Just have to watch it. Get the feeling that it is rare and they can't guarantee anything.  Oh, well, let us move along.                 I am not sure what I will do today.  It is kind of "make soup" day, but I don't have the stuff to make it nor the desire.  Getting spoiled.  But some real homemade soup would be mighty good. Maybe if I stay real still, the urge will go away?

OHWHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING

On the balcony this morning  it felt so nice.  Since I came inside, the sun is peeking out.  Will be warm soon. I go to my Dr. this morning for a check up on my gum surgery.  Will hear from biopsy.  Wish me luck.
I have been enjoying B and A and their new home.  Such fun possibilities.  Lots of work, but they are up to it and I look forward to watching it all happen.

Well, I must get on the road.  Jan will be here before I know it.   I am so slow these days.

FIND A SHADY SPOT

Running a little late.  Holiday you know.  Just like that means something to me.  Every day is a holiday here.  Cruise ship and all.  Hey, I had to hunt a shady spot behind a post on the Balcony.  Cool soft breeze helped.  Many thoughts this morning.  I arranged "my" hall table yesterday afternoon. I love my little racoon guys that I bought a few years ago at the closet sale.  A friend put them there because a foot was chipped on one.  I painted it black where it was chipped and he was good to go.  She comes and visits them every year.  I have acorns, pine cones, pieces of limbs, fake fall leaves and a beautiful arrangement in a green pitcher from Amy.  All looking like and waiting for the real leaves to turn and fall.  I was pleased with it.  I enjoy decorating the hall table about once a month or when the season changes.

Labor day, always baffled me as a child.  Why celebrate work, I thought.  Getting older and wiser changes everything.  Well not everything.  Some things remain steadfast.  Thank you Lord for that.  Take memories--yes take them and cherish  them.  I know I seem to be obsessed with them.  Please pardon me but as you get older they seem more important.  I feel I must write them down.

THE HUMMERS ARE HUMMING

I  have within my view 5 balconies that have one or two humming bird feeders.  They are getting ready to fly south for the winter.   My what a frenzy they are in.  Fighting for food at the feeders.  I watched them a while this morning and again wonder at  these tiny creatures.  I am also watching A.&B in there new "little farm" as she called it.  Instagram is so nice.  I just know Ashley is the right one to discover hidden treasures in the new buildings and in the house too.  I thank her for sharing her joy.

I feel Fall in the air this morning.  What to wear is always the question this time of year.  I met a friend in  the hall and she said," I am going to wear my white pants one more day."  You know tradition dictates you not wear white shoes after Labor Day.  O well, white is always in style to me.  Old sayings are always around.  Planning on going to Church this morning.  Haven't been in two weeks.  I doubt if anyone notices at church anymore.  Most of my old friends are gone now.  But I miss it.  I am the last man (old girl) standing. Glad to be here.

OUTDOOR LIVING

My outdoor living consist of my Balcony.  I also call it my outdoor living room.  Not very creative I know.  It was so nice this morning.  A cool breeze made it hard to leave, but the sun was about to take over and it was hard to fine a spot that there was shade. That is alright.  When it does get cool, even in the winter, the sun is welcome to be able to use it almost year around.  Even when it snowed, I will bundle up and sit for a while.  It is so pretty all year around.  I am happy to have a space to get outside.

Saturday and Jan & T. are on the coast visiting his sister. They enjoy that.  Now that Jan is retired, they take trips of all kind regularly.  Good for them.  Truman and I had a few good ones after he retired.  It is good to have the time to go as you please.

P.S.  I had Wheaties for breakfast.  "The breakfast of champions!"  What will it do for me ?
