ALL I DO IS COMPLAIN

Let me just say this and I will go on to other things.  I am so sore in the ribs from coughing, I am ready to move on but this crud likes me I guess.  I don't like it.  Eye infection on top of this is more than I want.

O. K. that said, I reached way back into the memory bank for this one,  A Mother's delight is to dress her little girl on Easter.  I remember when I was abut 10 or 12 we went shopping.  I liked two dresses so much and could not make up my mind which one,  My sweet Mama bought both of them.  I bet she did without to buy two!!I remember them both.  One was white taffater with beautiful pink roses.  Had a pretty sash and I was stunning in it. with a pink bow in my hair and white Mary Jane shoes.  The other was solid light pink of linen type material.  Very simple with pearl buttons down the bodice and a half sash.  Mother said one for Easter Day and one for Good Friday.  Lucky little girl. Sweet mama.  She taught me to be a Mama too, I hope a sweet. Pass it on.

I JUST DON"T KNOW

Sometime the best made plans just do not work out.  I had so many great things to do and I really got knocked down.  I have an eye infection now on top of this awful cold and cough.  My eye Dr, sent me an ointment for it.  It had better work, since it cost $45.00 for a tube about an inch and a half long and about as[big around as my little finger.  And that was generic too.  O well I am grateful for it and for Amy who picked it up.  My cold and cough is some better but I am staying in and trying to take care.  I will miss singing in the Choir at sunrise service ;but I do hope to go to Church Sunday. and dinner at Jan 's.  Don't want to miss it all  Remember how beautiful we all looked taking pictures in our back yard on Riverwood.    I hope the Easter Bunny brings you lots of chocolate eggs and bunnies. Remember how we used to dye eggs on Saturday before Easter?

LITTLE BETTER TODAY

Yes I can see improvement .  Not done with it yet.  Why hang on?  I have gotten plenty of rest and I think that helps.  I am getting restless tho and want to feel tip top.  What is tip top anyway?  Is it different for everyone?  Does everyone at sometime or other feel "tip top"?  To me tip top means reaching the top of the tip.  I am not sure I have ever been on the "tip".  It sounds uncomfortable in a way.  I bet you could not stay that way long.  I think one would be able to see every thing from that view.  Do we want to see it all.?  Do we want to look down on everyone and everything? ----I think my "meds" are wearing off.  Do I need more or do I need to come down from the "tip of the top?"  Oh well I will settle for a nap and be better tomorrow.

CRUD

I have come down with some kind of crud,  I do not need this,  there is Choir singing at Sunrise on Easter morning, play practice, Church services and Easter dinner.  I just am mad at myself.  Better tomorrow I hope.

SOMETHING SMEELS GOOD!!!!!!

O. K. I had a coupon, which explains it.  I have never tried to make homemade yeast bread.  Fleischman's has come out with a mix for homemade no knead bread .  Several flavors.  I chose Multi-Grain.  So easy and made the whole hall smell good.  It is pretty good.  I had a hot buttered slice with my homemade soup for supper.  The whole process took only an hour.  You have to like a lot of grain to enjoy it.  I think I will try Stoneground Wheat next.  Both are wholewheat.  So it is good for me.  So try it,  It is easy.

TOO MUCH GOING ON

It has been an eventful week.  Jack's funeral was such a celebration that it was not as sad as you would expect.  The slide show and much memorabilia- to his buddies in the Street Rod cars leading the procession to the cemetery and the Elvis recording of AMAZING GRACE  for music to Elvis singing I FOUND MY THRILL ON BLUEBERRY HILL. to the red casket, to the clothes he wore, a beautiful red tie All chosen by him.  Bless his heart, he was ready to go and as he told me a few days before he died, "I can't  wait to see my sweet Charlotte.'  I trust with all my heart that they are both in the presence of God,   You just had to be there to experience it.  Jan, Tommy Amy.ED, Mary Grace Rayn, Linda and Joe and Me .Lunch at Karen' church was very nice and we got to visit with everyone.  He did it his way.

LOOK MOM!!

Remember the commercial--"Look mom!  No cavities!!"  Some toothpaste I do not remember.  Well I remember saying it to my children.  I had no  cavities yesterday.  Big news.  All  I had to offer at the dinner table at Jan"s house.  We had 12 of us to visit with Ashley.  Here for a few days  and on her way from Florida back to Boston.  She hopes the snow is melted because being in Florida has made her wish for Spring.  Me too.  The pear trees are so pretty blooming as white as snow.  And it seems, as it usually does- so sudden and like overnight the world wakes from winter to beautiful spring.  My favorite is still Fall.  My I could not keep up with all the conversations last night.  It was wonderful to hear such youthful things.  I love it here, because I feel a part of "old" talk. but it is good to know he world is still turning and I am still here, tho not a part of new things like my family is. I am beginning to wonder if I can take a week of it at Beach Week.  I am glad to have books and a room alone so I can retreat.  Just thankful to look forward to a good time. with my family.

OH NO!!

I have not written much lately, Not much to tell I guess.  I am in scene II of the play.  Our scene has practice on April 3rd and April 10.  We put all three scenes together on the 19th and 24th.  Dress rehearsal on May 3rd and then the play is on May 6th 6:45.  BE THERE!!. I hope I will.  I have a dentist appointment this morning,  If I survive,  I will BE THERE.

SATURDAY"S P.S.

Jan came and so did Cary.  We enjoyed such a nice visit.  Always fun to talk about the new little descendant.  We had lunch on the terrace at the Cyber.  Only me and my family seem to enjoy the outdoors.  Some don"t know a wonderful Spring day when we get it.  It was perfect.  They left going to Baby's Are Us.  Excited as they could be.  Can't wait to hear about that trip. 

I worked at cleaning some things out.  I discarded the last pair of shoes Truman wore.  They were very scuffed up from pushing himself in the wheel chair.  He was taking care of business right up to the end.  It was a little upsetting.  And I did not cry till a little later when I checked out some more memories from my special "memory bank".  Don't go there as much as I used to but they are still so fresh and sweet.  I am glad my cup is running over with good memories.  See that you all make plenty of them.  They are priceless.

SATURDAY DOING"S

Week went by fast.  I had breakfast with a couple of friends.  They showed me photos of great grand"s.  One year old redheaded boy and a three old boy.  Such beautiful children.  I always look with much interest to other peoples children.  It really pays off when you want to talk about your own.  Right,?  Blueberries made my pancakes so good.  My love affair with pancakes on Saturday is strong and I brave high sugar to have them.  As you know Truman always made them on Saturday and I guess it is a good memory.  Plus blueberry pancakes are hard to beat when you have someone else to make them.  I hope Jan is coming today.  With Cary and David and  cats I know she  is busy.  Of course they can take care of themselves and more.  Well the phone just rang and she is coming.  See you later.

DON"T BE MEAN

Of course I could rumba (if I really wanted to, which I don"t. )  I might be too good at it and that could lead to who knows where?  I had breakfast at the Cyber.  Tired of hearing that?  I will now do the laundry.  Go to a meeting at 10:00 and wing it from there.

HOT DOG DAY!!!!!

Now talk about silly.  I can make a decent hot dog in my apartment with turkey dogs and whole wheat roll,  but I will take my whole wheat roll  down with me at the Cyber and let them fix the rest.  I usually get slaw or fruit and sometime chili.  Talk about a life.  Hey I hear they are teaching the Rumba this afternoon.  I would rather have a nap.

A FEW THINGS

Bad about breakfast in the Cyber.  Their eggs and bacon taste better than mine.  I go about 3 times a week.  Ate by myself this time.  Amy came and brought two beautiful arrangement of flowers from the Church altar flowers.  I took one to a new widow and she just paid me a visit to thank me.  So sweet.  Another to a friend who got good news from test.  Just to celebrate her good news.  Makes me feel good to be able to do something like that.  Had a nice walk and then coffee and pumpkin bread in the "bubble" sun room overlooking the lake.  I am so glad to be living on the water.  Almost like it used to be.  Almost but not really.  Hey, it is what is now and now is where I live.     So do you.

FULL DAY

Started out with discovering a leak under my bathroom sink.  Was not too bad so I ignored it not to miss exercise class.  Got back and called Maintenance.  They are really good but I was way down on the list being Monday.  They came about 1:00 and it was a minor repair so I got to go to Choir practice and then to Methodist Church service.  Now I am going to dinner with my usual ladies. Full day but I like it that way.  Nothing outstanding happened today. that I know of.  So off to dinner. Things have been known to happen at dinner,  We will see.

SUNDAY

Wow! talking about cold.  It led me to wear this sweater I have that is wool and I don't wear it very often.  It is very old now.  I wore it today and was still cold.  Went to church.  New Stage has a production now of Mahalia Jackson.  I don't know the correct name of it.  A young woman who's actual name is Mahalia Jackson is playing the part of Mahalia Jackson.  She sang at church this morning. She sang "Deep River" and "Elijah Rock"  What a voice-she was really good.  She is from Atlanta.  Amy. M. G. and me had lunch at Bon Ami's today.  So good. I drank two cups of coffee and came home and took a nap.  Do you think I will sleep tonight?  I actually would like a cup now but I better not.  I will go visit Irene, but first I will take a walk.  Come go with me.

SNOW---NO SHOW

Where is that snow?  Just a light dusting would be exciting.  I had a cheese omelet with bacon and cheese of course, at the Cyber.  It was perfect!  Darrell and wife Earlene are good breakfast buddies.  Cold this morning  31 degrees.  March 2==should see some spring days soon.  My phone just rang.  It was Jan saying she is coming for lunch.  And she was walking at the time and they are seeing snow flakes (a little).  A little is exciting.

HIGH MANTAINCE

I was "clipping" down the hall at a pretty fast clip.  A lady said you have been to exercise class and I admire you for taking care of yourself.  I thanked her but,

did not tell her how hard I work at it.  It takes a lot of work to keep it going.  But I want a quality of life that is as good as I can keep it.  But, please Lord not till I am 90.  I need to be on my way before then.
