HI HO HI HO HI HO

 IT's off to work we go. NO, not me, just the workers who cut the grass. Two big machines just went by, on the sidewalk in front of me. One had a passenger. Away they went around to front of building. They keep it trimmed and neat, although we have no rain to make it grow. We use well water here in Madison and they have been keeping the Lake at a safe level. The workers are happy for a job. Another observation, the beautiful CYPRUS trees that I love are suffering from the heat. They are very embarrassed  to have their "knees" showing above the water. Look like the ones on the Natchez Trace. Well I hope the Weather People do not scare away the first rain we are looking for in a while. Well, I will stop for now, my eyes are struggling and I am tired of having to redo mistakes. Excuse any I miss.

OH, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING.

 This is my favorite season. Many reasons. One is our second daughter was born in October. I tell her how blue the sky was. Nothing like October Blue. Looking forward to those blue skies. I had a good night's rest. I can't say sleep. but up and down is alright if you go right back to sleep. I will tell you my secret: Be so sure of yourself  that you don't open your eyes fully, just  slowly go there and back without thinking about it and usually--back to sleep without fully waking up. Oh, I have many "Gems" to keep me a-float. I also make up words to describe my status at the time. Oh, I finished the book THE MAID. I hope you get to read it.  By: Nita Prose. I identify with  the maid in many ways. Read to see how.

COOL AND NICE OUT THERE

 

I could stay a while out there. The breeze felt like Fall at last. Jan and I went to the eye Dr. for me yesterday. Good visit. Got some good advice and was encouraged. Everything is O. K. Of course the sight thing has not changed. I still see perfect in left eye, but the other eye (right one) continues to be my problem. Like my Dr. He is patient and very smart. Knows his  business, and I feel I am in good hands, important. O. K., that said, I am getting new glasses. Not that there is much change. I have had the same ones for years. The are very outdated and very, very, very ugly. Maybe that is what I need. something "pretty and up to date. Something in style?  Anything to hide these old wrinkles. When I find that solution, I will share it.

DANCING WITH THE STARS

 Back again and I watched last night. Three hours for the first show. I got a little tired of it, but liked the new cast. Many will go fast, because they are not good. But I saw a little promise.  Anyway, I don't have to watch EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND so much. The show brought back old friends to mind, when Betty  would tease Darlene  and me about watching all those nude dancers. Anyway, I guess I will watch next Monday and appreciate their skills. 

I am going to eye Dr. today and see if anything  can be done to  help with my old right eye, Of course this is a gradual thing that I have lived with for a long time. I spend a lot of time correcting my many mistakes, because I simply can't focus on the right keys and go too fast. Oh well. SLOW UP.

TURN YOUR RADIO ON.

 Do you remember the old gospel song ---  TURN YOUR RADIO ON ? Our SVC SUNSHINE CHOIR is going to start our Christmas program with that song!!!  I love it!!!  I bet most of you have heard it, It is not sung anymore. Our director has got our attention and we will get yours too,  as we sing getting in touch with God for our program. Everyone is excited . We have a program planned with something for all. I feel so good  to be able to join in again.  Proof. that everyone who wants to sing is welcome. Me? Well just say I fill a chair and make a joyful noise. 

I am "fruity" this morning. Oatmeal held banana, along side, Orange juice for the pills, a small bowl of prunes, and a small garlic cheese biscuit (you should taste them toasted for breakfast) especially with turkey bacon. WOW, what a start with coffee on the Balcony. That should take care of me. When I think of how my Mother had to coach, beg, threaten and promise me a treat, to get me to eat breakfast, I can't believe I enjoy breakfast so much.

 , OVER LAND AND OVER SEA: Robert Lewis Stevenson". I used to like to read that poem to little daughter #3. She was left at home when the older sisters went to school. So we shared a lot of one-on-one. Some of the poems stuck with me. The rain did fall, gently this morning, but not the poem kind. Just a little teaser and hope for more to come. I sat on Balcony and listened to the gentle sound and hoped for more to come. 

I enjoyed pics of the new Kitty of A.'s friend. So sweet and cute. Maybe I will see it again soon. Not much to write. Hope to go the Choir practice this afternoon. Will plan on that.

 2 Amy's and a "dapper' little cutie dressed in his best Tuxedo and frisky as could be. I had wished I could see A# 2's new addition to her cat family. Lo and behold, the two Amy's came bring Mr. not yet named with them in a cute little carrier and gave him his first elevator ride up to my door. How wonderful!! Cutest little ball of fur I have ever seen. !!!! He explored as much as we would let him. He was not shy. Finally he tired and took a nap right in my lap. Was I special? I loved the visit from them and the kitty too. We explored name, but as far as I know, he is still nameless. He is that special. Must fit him. Please come again--good subject  for my Blog. and so is company.

SATURDAY

Saturday stands out during the week. Many reasons for that. Usually we have a day off from work. Some, like me do not work anyway, But many do and some get a day off. My, My, this blog is going nowhere already. Balcony was so pleasant and calm.  Saw ,very little going on. Heard a small plane to break the silence. After a big and fluffy waffle with blueberries with a side of Turkey bacon. I felt content to use the silence as a good start for the day. No work for me.  So if I ramble a little, just know it is Saturday. Actually my eyes are giving me trouble. I am redoing many mistakes in my vision and it is a struggle to keep redoing.. But I do like to write my thoughts. Does me good.  I as looking at an  enlarged photo of my last cat  Bitsy. She was a gentle and sweet beauty. I love having her sit with me in the photo on my desk and  keep me company.  What will I do today?

OH MY !!!!

 I  slept late. Sorry. That is not like me. So the sun got up before me this morning. O well, it does not need me after all. I tried the Community coffee this morning. Very good. Many Eateries us it, I see why. It is Friday. Weekend of fun for some. There is much to do in Jackson. Just read my source. He keeps us informed. My hometown has really changed during my many years.  Some for the good and with progress comes growth.  And with growth, some bad apples must fall. So Be It. 

Hey, I  got a haircut yesterday. Speaking of  my hairdresser   She is nice to put up growing- my hair was growing down my neck and onto my back. My hairdresser, she earned her money. She got a nice tip. I really appreciate her. Hope she last as long as I do. I don't like to train a new . It must be hard to put up with messy old ladies and a few cranky old  men too. But we all have our trials and problems. SO BE IT.

ALAYS READING SOMETHING

 I love to read. Takes me away. I am reading a good one now. THE MAID by NITA PROSE. So good and until the stroke, I could read all day, but I am limited to 30 or 45 minutes before my eyes go too blurred and tired to see well enough to read more. So I read short little times between, Oh well. CHANGE, I read a prayer in a little book of prayers that comes to me often. It said to come to Change, you start  with Patience, then that leads to Peace, ushers in Contentment, and Calms the Soul. I have to admit that I stay in the Patience Dept. a lot. 

I had Blueberries in my oatmeal. I hear they are good for you? Good to eat too. O J, and a piece of cheese toast, and of course PILLS and coffee. Tomorrow I start on the Community Coffee, CHAHGE AGAIN. Hang on, I am trying

 iO, K. and we are back. Little to talk about. Hint of Fall is something to talk about. I am wondering, just like females, old and young, what do I have in the old cedar chest, to ware? No matter how old and out of order you are, the first thing you think of is "What will I put on this old body?"  What makes us like to look in style and comfortable? Many I talk to tell me that the old things in their closet are the best. Now that is just the "old of us" talking. I do have things that I love to wear that are vintage. Save the oldies and don't discard them yet. What goes around == comes around. Only Betty Boop can make a Blog from nothing.

SUNSHINE CHOIR

 I GOT THE STRENGTH, COURAGE AND DESIRE TO GO TO THE FIRST PRACTICE, JUST TO TEST IT. I WAS ENCOURAGED BY MANY WHO SAID , GOOD TO SEE YOU. THEY EVEN ALREADY HAD MY NAME ON THE LIST BEFORE I COULD SIGN UP. HAD MY BOOK READY AND ASIGNED A NUMBER TO IT. SOMETHING ABOUT HAVING A NUMBER THAT MAKES YOU OFFICIAL AND WANTED. I STUMBLED THROUGH AND TRIED TO NOT SOUND TOO BAD. FAMILIA SONGS AND CAROLS FOR CHRISTMAS MADE THAT EASY. I REALLY ENJOYED MYSELF AS WE SANG THAT SONG I LOVE. YOU KNOW THE ONE. "ENJOY YOURSELF, IT'S LATER THAN YOU THINK."  AMEN TO THAT. SHIRLEY KISSED ME ON THE FORHEAD AND SAID SHE WAS GLAD TO SEE ME. DON'T WE ALL CRAVE BEING WANTED?  ANYWAY, IT WAS GOOD AND I FELT GOOD TOO. 

I SAW A SKINNY STRIPED GREY AND BLACK CAT ROAMING THROUGH THE ROSE GARDEN. LOOKINIG FOR FOOD. WISH I COULD FEED HER. SEVERAL WATCHED HER WITH ME. WE DARE NOT FEED HER. SHE LOOKD  AS IF SHE COULD TAKE CARE OF HERSELF. SO BE IT.

 Long few days. The computer and DOT'S SPOT was missed by me. I am sure you can survive a few days with out it. I found my days wanting to tell "Dot's Spot " a secret or two. You out there in Cyber Land are real to me. Finally got someone to come take a look at what was wrong. I sure tried to figure it out. But, just too much that I do not know about this computer world. He was kind and understanding and tried to explain in my words what was wrong. I got the feeling that he really did not know either. But whatever made my little laptop sick, we got it well again and here we are. I am sure you can just pick up where we left off and never miss a thing. Not much happens to me anymore, unless maybe a new something decides to jump on me . Our Sunshine Choir starts back after two years of Covid.  My voice is of very low quality and energy is sometime hiding. Maybe I can try?  We will see. 

Hummers are still here after thinking they were gone yesterday, since I did not see a single one, they are back this morning. can't understand their ways.  But the table is still set, as long as it takes. I will watch. There are 3 who come--Winking, Blinking, and Nod.

JUST SINGING IN THE RAIN

I really did just that, without being in the rain. My friend "HAPPY" and I sang it together in the Hall yesterday. She is a real "HOOT." Love her. But what a sight to see it rain. Everyone was in a happy mood. people were making jokes about going out and dancing in the rain. Glad that did not happen. Two little Hummers and this Old Lady loved it this morning on the Balcony, so cool and and inviting. Better get on the road again, as old Willie sings. See you next year, minus the wasp and bees. They have been a pain and very unwelcomed. Now as most everyone else, on to the birds.

OH, FOR CHANGE

    CHANGE!!!!!

The old saying:    "As a rule, man's a fool, when it's hot he wants it cool; When it's cool he want's it hot; Always wanting what is not never satisfied with what he's got."   And all God's people say--AMEN. We are sometime fools for sure. Nobody is perfect. Sometime I am a Fool and think I am perfect about something. Often times I am wrong. But I do really look forward to FALL weather. It is my favorite season. My world has been turned, not upside down, but a little shaken with health reasons. I really think I try too hard to understand too much. I will try to stop that way of thinking and just enjoy something new. I don't just mean SCV, but this time where I am in my life and be more thankful for the beauty of growing older and I hope more wise. Enough of "preaching." 

The Hummers are getting fewer, I can only identify 2 now. You get to know them when you study them as I do, Not only to learn about them, but just enjoy. I am ready to put up my new birdfeeder. I am looking forward to getting to know them too.

IS IT JUPITER OR VENUS?

 I  have been noticing when I open the drapes to my Balcony at about 6 A. M.  a star shinning very bright in East. l looked it up, as I say, and am not sure which it is. JUPITER OR VENUS.  Google was unsure which I see, I'll take that. I see it so bright and along with half a moon showing, it is a beautiful sight. So calming and peaceful as it peeps down at the world in such disorder. I am glad to see it giving me courage and hope for us all.  The cool continues and welcomed too. 

 J, and I are anxious to see my new birdseed  feeder up and working. Maybe we will see the Bubble' family and a few new types?  Well, I can always hope.

VICTORIA'S SECRET

 Is it still at the Mall?  Beautiful shop. Used to wish "someone" would choose something for me. As I sit on the Balcony, I have my wish. It is an "old" one, from the days gone by. My husband was a very generous man. he gave me anything I needed or ever wanted. But he was not good at thinking of gifts to buy on his own. Usually he would ask me to buy something I wanted. Later he relied on his youngest daughter to choose something. She did a good and I must say a generous job. I sit in a robe that I bought on my own  from there one Valentines' Day from him. It is black satin with pink roses printed on it. It is lovely but not sexy. I  kept it because he liked it too. Funny how memories stay and appear  when you need them. Somehow this one came and warmed my heart as I checked it out of the Memory Bank. Although it is missing one covered button it is still just as pretty as ever And I wear it anyway. Back it is deposited in the Memory Bank, for another day. And Memories are safe.

Is it cool on the Beach? Enjoy, my Bathing Beauties. I always wanted to enjoy the beach in the Fall or Winter too. Relax and have a good experience with each other.

I had a good day yesterday. Jan and I took off on a mission. I had the idea of a winter bird feeder. I have not had an official feeder since Riverwood. I did love that. So many kinds of birds to see. I wanted a shelf type feeder. Open and hanging from the Balcony. I could picture it. We went to Birds Unlimited. Been there forever I guess. They have it all. Such fun to have a good source. After being "educated" all over again, I chose something that would fit, J. took pictures of the Balcony and where I wanted it to hang so I could manage it. Oh we did it right. Came hope with special food and a beauty of a hanger. (credit card hurt) but I don't spend a lot on fun. Now, I am ready for the Hummers to leave. Most have gone and two still hang on. I am thinking of letting my neighbors take care of them and when the Joy JUICE runs out, we will start to build a lovely feeder for the Bubble" family of birds. Remember them? They have come looking lately. 

We had lunch and it was good. Even though I can't remember it's name. Home and really could hardly  wait to rest. Jan stayed and filled my PILL BOX for the week. She closed the door softly as she left. I did not even hear her go. Tired but HAPPY.

FALL ???

 Feels like it. Very few, maybe two hummers have visited this morning. Are they the "left behinders?" Rounding up the slow ones?  I hope they are getting ready to vacate and fly to the other home they have. I am getting tired of this filling and washing and shooing away the unwanted elements. On to the Buble' family. I plan to hang an open feeder and give them something besides crumbs. I will have to go to the store and search for what I vision. Bad idea, when you make up your mind even before you shop?  I have seen small open type shelves that look interesting. And some good mixed food. Getting excited just thinking about it. Just to imagine what I will see.  Do wasp and Bees like bird food? I hope not. 

It is a good morning to travel. Know any travelers this morning.? I do. So, look on the back seat and see if the Travel Angel is riding with you?  God Speed!!

JUST RAMBLING

 A few things running around in this old brain. Brain-what a wonderous thing. It works harder than any other part, yet stays still in place. It does jump from one thing to another. Never still for me. Even as I try to sleep-there it goes around and around. Can't control it. On it goes. 

Hey, I saw Mr. Flowerpot hat this morning. Along behind him two talking Ladies. The weather is nice this morning. Good for talking and telling what you know. Still looking for a good down pour of rain. Seems the weeks are racing by. Friday already. Time to "fill the pill box" again. Looking for some new Meds from the Doctor. My, My, How did I get here? I used to not think very highly of those who took so much medication. But beware of thinking!! It can happen to anyone, anytime, and there you are, SO BE IT.

POOR LITTLE HUMMERS

How sorry I am for them-but proud too. They fight anything to survive. This enemy now is regular bees. I don't really know what that means. They are small and mean as can be. Even I am afraid of them. But there they are, drinking up the water from my Hummers. The Hummers have had a hard time this year. We all have, with this heat and whatever we have to fight. But time marches on and this too will pass. I shot the bees with my water gun. HA HA.

I felt like moving it on this morning. No fabulous breakfast. Well they do take time. and I felt like doing it fast. I had sugar free yogurt on strawberries and banana with Almond Agave Granola sprinkled on top. Pretty and good to eat. I am all fruity with orange juice to take the pills. Coffee of course. Daughter # 3 taught me this one. No cooking, and very little clean up. Just something different, but I I still like the old fashioned egg and turkey bacon =, even though it takes longer and I make a mess too. Oh, well why not,? I am in no hurry.

SLEEPING LATER LATELY

 Don't know why. I will not complain. So many things are changing. I dreamed about a favorite Aunt last night. One of my Mother's sisters. The interesting one, who came from her home with her husband (wish I could remember his "nick" name, in Charlotte, N. C. No children, but she told her sisters how to raise their kids when she came. I liked her, she brought presents when she came. She also upset my Mom and her sisters a lot. Peggy was her name and she shared all her opinions. She of course was from the big city and had beautiful up to fashion clothes. Need a whole Blog to describe her. She was fun. Oh, yes she had red hair that was enhanced from a bottle!! cool!!! I was a naughty little girl and would slip around when they were in secret conversations and listen to things I knew nothing about. Bet they learned something new too.

WE MISSED THE RAIN !!!!!

I was looking for rain here yesterday. Got close but not close enough. Maybe today. The rain did get as far as Mississippi, but not Madison. It will come and we will be saying, please send some sunshine. Always wanting something else. Hummers are still here and seem to be "tanking up." I will miss the little wonders of the bird world. But they are all wonders.  I plan to replace the feeder with some kind of feeder for the Winter guest. 

My Hall table has brought many comments from hall walkers. My school class picture especially. where I am a head shorter than everyone else. That is not new to me. I just did not grow very fast and stopped when I decided to I guess. Oh well, I do stand out. My second grade teacher had two bricks put at my feet under my desk, so my feet could touch something and not swing free all day. Sweet teacher, I remember her. But embarrassed me, which was easy to do at school.

HOLLIDAY, BUT I STILL WRITE

 R. & MG CAME FOR VISIT AND BROUGHT THE MOST DELISH ARBY'S ROAST BEEF SANDWICES SUNDAY. WE SAT IN THE BUBBLE AND ENJOYED TALKING FOR A WHILE. THEY LOOKED AND SOUNDED SO GOOD TO MY EARS. M. G. SPORTING A NEW STYLE HAIRCUT. SO CUTE AND SHOWED OFF HER BEAUTIFUL FACE. TODAY IS A HOLLIDAY. DOESN'T MAKE MUCH DIFFERENCE TO ME. NEVER DID CELEBRATE THIS ONE MUCH. JUST MEANT STARTING SCHOOL TO ME. BUT NOW SCHOOL STARTS SO EARLY. I OVERSLEPT THIS MORNING. HAD A LESS THAN RESTFUL NIGHT AND WOKE A LOT. CAN'T GET IT STRAIGHT. I MAKE UP WITH NAPS. MY HOW I HAVE CHANGED MY SLEEP CYCLE. SO BE IT.

BEEN TRAVELIMG IN MY MIND

 Actually, easy way to travel. Especially if you have traveled there before. I went to THE GREAT SMOKEY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK in my dreams. First destination of our camping days. Traveling with young kids is the way to go. They love the freedom of camping. New to us as it has been a big part of our traveling since then. We have been all over the world. From the highest type of travel to the most simple. The Hallmark Chanel has made a few movies with National Parks as their setting. Last night it was beautiful in TN.  So as usual. my dreams took over. I was there in the mountains with a family I had never seen before. We had my usual struggling dreams and I don't understand this old brain of mine. I climbed all night and I am tired this morning.       Well, waffles. with strawberries and blueberries fixed me this morning. Funny how food does that?

 Would love a rainy day. Something soothing about the rain drops. Maybe before the day is over, we will see a little of that beautiful stuff. Hope so. Yesterday I pulled items from my storage cage for a new display for the Hall table. The Sunflowers have done their time. I do things in stages now, The box that is marked "School" needs to be updated. Nothing in the box is up to date. Maybe it will be "charming" anyway. Oldies are interesting too. Don't dismiss the "past", just live in the "today." I always look forward to arranging the Table.

NEW COFFEE

 New coffee this morning. Used up TRADER JOE'S daughter from Memphis gave me, so I am used to the best and asked another daughter here to buy something special. She brought SEATTLE'S BEST AND COMMUNITY ALSO. I tried Seattle this morning. I liked it. Richer than Kroger. So I sat on Balcony drinking and watching the many beautiful clouds that filled the sky this morning. Not a secret that I love the clouds and try to find Truman in them. He was there this morning and brought the whole family that reside in heaven now plus the whole Heavenly Host. What a display. I do imagine good things? Been down in dumps. Having too much worry  over blood pressure and I am looking for levity in my thoughts. Jan and Dr. and Nurse are working with me to get the pressure and my worry under control. Good Luck, I am a hard nut to crack. I know just enough to not know anything.
