TRU-B-DO-B -DO

Remember Truman's book?  I go to check old stories out.  It was the case yesterday when I had baked sweet potato for lunch.  He did love sweet potato baked.  Amazing because he ate it very often growing up.  His mama would pack one in his lunch pail along with maybe a biscuit with ham or sausage .  Well the story goes he and other kids ate lunch from their pails outside on the playground.  He pulled out his sweet potato and broke the end off to peal it and looking at the side of his beautiful white school house, he did not think twice before he threw it to the target.  Oh no, it stuck to the side of that beautiful white wall. One little kid ran to tell the teacher (there is always one who is ready to tattle.) He said he was scared as Mr. Clark came rushing out.  He said actually he talked kindly to him about keeping their beautiful School building clean and he helped him clean the little spot off the wall.  I thought what a lesson that teacher taught him that it stayed with him all these years and to write about it.  It just goes to show  you that kind words can really teach a lessons that make an impression on your life.  I wonder what kind of lesson it taught the other little boy who was so anxious to tell on Truman.?    Truman's book is full of "good" stories.  Hunt it up a read some of them as we have more time to reflect.  If you have misplaced your copy-I have a couple of extras. They wont be signed by him along with a few kind words, but you may enjoy it again anyway.

P. S. Truman grew up without many things but he had  plenty love and guidance that made him the man he was.  I was lucky to call him mine!!
